Frequently asked questions
No account needed at all. Open Fundo, create your trip, and you get a unique shareable URL. Send that link to your group — everyone can view and add expenses without signing up. Your trip data is stored securely in the cloud, tied to that URL.
Fundo uses Google Firebase Firestore to sync data in real time. Any change made by any member — adding an expense, marking a settlement, updating member info — is pushed to all connected devices within milliseconds. No refresh needed.
Each member has a "share weight" starting at 1x (themselves). You can add adult dependants (each counts as 1x more) and children (each counts as 0.5x). So if Ahmed has 1 adult dependant and 2 children, his share weight is 1 + 1 + (2×0.5) = 3x. You can also override dependants per individual expense if needed.
Fundo supports 130+ world currencies. You can log each expense in any currency — AED, USD, EUR, JPY, IDR, GBP, and many more. Live exchange rates are fetched automatically so all balances are correctly converted to your chosen base currency.
The Admin (protected by a 4-digit PIN) can: edit and delete expenses, add/remove/rename members, change settings and currency, mark settlements as paid, set trip status (Active / Closing / Closed), and send reminders. Regular Members can: add new expenses, view all expenses, analytics, and balances. This ensures only the trip organiser can make structural changes.
Fundo calculates the most efficient set of transfers — the minimum number of payments needed so everyone is settled. For example, in a 6-person group that might mean only 4 transfers instead of 15+. Once someone pays, the admin clicks "Mark Settled" and balances update in real time for the whole group.
Yes! The Settle Up tab has an Export PDF button (generates a formatted report with expenses, balances, and settlements) and an Export Excel button (creates a proper .xlsx file with four sheets: Expenses, Members & Balances, Settlement Plan, and Summary). Pro users get clean exports with no branding footer.
In Settings → Reminders, the admin can save each member's phone number or email address. On the Settle Up tab, clicking "📣 Send All Now" sends a personalised reminder to every person who owes money — via WhatsApp (if a phone is saved) or email — all in one click. You can also click "🔔 Reminders" to review and send individually.
Pro uses Pay What You Want pricing — the minimum is $4.99 per trip, but you can pay more if you feel it's worth it (most groups pay $7–10). It's a one-time payment per trip — no subscription, no renewals. Pro unlocks: unlimited group members, clean PDF/Excel exports without branding, and priority email support. Your trip is accessible only to people who have the unique URL. Fundo uses a random alphanumeric trip ID in the URL hash — it cannot be guessed. Data is stored in Firebase Firestore.
